Just seen that ex Dr Feelgood and Yardbirds guitarist Gypie Mayo died yesterday. Big boots to fill when Wilko left the Feelgoods but Gypie did a good job, made some good albums with the band and was really good on stage. Remember seeing him with the Feelgoids at The Top Rank when they were on the Private Practice tour. RIP Gypie.

It must have been daunting for him to follow Wilko but he made a huge contribution to the band. Ironically died from cancer as did Lee Brilleaux and anytime now Wilko will. RIP.

Who'd have thought Wilko would outlive Gypie? Both great players, Mayo more fluid and added something different to the Feelgoods. Saw him at Crawley Leisure Centre, I believe. Saw the Wilko version at Reading Festival and Hammersmith Odeon.

Sad news. Surprisingly difficult to find a clip of the "proper" Dr Feelgood (Gypie Mayo version) playing this live on YouTube, this looks horribly like a mimed version but it will do. Still no sign of the piano.
