Stars of the West End join Juice FM’s Guy & Andrea to switch on Brighton’s Christmas Lights

A star studded event is planned for Wednesday November the 16th that will light up Brighton city centre at 5:30pm in East Street.

A brand new environmentally friendly Christmas lights scheme for the newly extended city centre Business Improvement District will be unveiled with the help of Juice FM, the cast of Spamalot, the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, and some very special guests. The lights will use 15% less power than previously and are 25% less bright.

Guy and Andrea from the Juice 107.2 Breakfast Show will be on hand to MC the free family event, where there will be Christmas Sing-along’s, mediaeval costume competition for the kids and plenty of laughs from the hugely popular stars of Spamalot (running at the Theatre Royal Brighton, from 15th Dec – 24th Jan). Helping with the countdown to lights-on will be Dale Winton and Jodie Prenger, (winner of the BBC1 search for Nancy in ‘I’ll Do Anything’.) Bring the kids in Fancy Dress (Medieval Knight or princess or Christmas theme) and you could win family tickets to see this year’s production of Spamalot at the Theatre Royal (judged by Dale and Jodie).

The Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus will be in fine festive voice to welcome in the yuletide and the fantastic Street Dance phenomenon that is the Juicy Crew will also take to the stage. With so much Christmas fun to be had you’re sure to get that cosy glow to get you in to the festive spirit. And keep a look out for a very special Christmas guest – Tatty Teddy will be joining us dressed as Santa. Our cuddly chum is looking forward to having his photo taken with lots of children.

The fun kicks off at 5:30, so make sure you have a front row seat in Brighton’s East Street to catch all the surprises.

:xmas:

Sounds like a fantastic event in Brighton, down here in Lyme we've got BBC Dorset Political Editor Peter Henley doing the honours with help from the Masons.

Do you have to be gay to be in the chorus? How do they know your gay? Hmmmm

There will be a casting couch, which I believe is not unusual in theatrical circles. :lolol:
I bet they throw in a few ringers though.
