I'm not convinced Poyet would have gone to Palace. He'd have been on a hiding to nothing there and I don't think he would have been prepared to put his reputation on the line knowing how little chance he would have had keeping Palace up with the squad they had. That said, he is exposing himself to a similar risk at Sunderland.
