I might make this a daily thing - today's are quite interesting. Will update the thread each day when I can. Most of you have probably got this book anyway.

Saturday 18th October 1902

Albion enjoyed the biggest away win in the club's history. Shoreham FC are humbled 12-0 in the FA Cup second qualifying round at Oxen Field. The goals came from Ben Garfield, Barney Lee (2), Sid Thair (3), Frank Scott (4), an own-goal and Alf Harland.

Friday 18th October 1996

Pompey confirmed that they would not allow Albion to share Fratton Park from 1997 onwards. Albion chief executive David Bellotti responded by announcing that negotiations are proceeding with Gillingham and two unnamed London clubs.

Wednesday 18th October 2000

Albion's record run of league games without conceding a goal came to an end against Hartlepool at Withdean - Michel Kuipers carried the ball over the line just before half-time from a high cross. It didn't matter; Gary Hart; Bobby Zamora (2) and Richard Carpenter netted for a 4-2 win to send us up to second in Division 3.

Tuesday 18th October 2005

On-loan Man Utd defender Paul McShane scored the only goal of the game, with 12 minutes remaining, to give the Seagulls their first win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park since 1983. The 3,500-plus visiting supporters were on tenterhooks at Clinton Morrison stabbed a loose ball home in the final seconds only for the referee to rule the effort out for offside.
