Blimey, that's 3 Co-ops within 100 yards. Seems a bit OTT unless they're closing one.

There's still two, as the one on the Good Companion's side has closed down to move over the road into bigger premises. The second Coop is the other side of the Seven Dials. No more competition for Tescos than there was before.

Having those two in spitting distance is bizarre. Both have always been a bit shit.

I worked at the seven dials one when it was in transition from 'alldays' to co-op....think it was one of the least profitable co-ops in the south

most of the trade came from the fact that it served alcohol half an hour later than the other one so we had a massive rush of special brew and own brand cider sales in the half hour before closing

Does Barry still work there? Nicest man in retail. About 50 with grey hair. Always seemed to be working shit shifts on weekend nights but genuinely nice guy. English too which made a refreshing change from the acne riddled, grunting indifference of the Baltic lumps that usually work there.
