Of the 12 occasions that English clubs have won it, this event has failed to occur on 3 occasions.

Of the 9 clubs, only 2 have actually won the competition.

What is the event and can you name the 9 teams?

? Is that your answer or are you seeking clarification? If it's your answer then that was in fact the title of the thread!

If it's clarification, then it relates to winners of the Uefa Champions League and its forerunner, the European Cup.

And just to clarify the clue, when I say 'we done it', I am of course referring to Brighton.

Close, but not quite right. Man Utd lost about 15 games in 68/69.

The correct answers is teams that have done the league double against the reigning European Cup/champions league holders.

(have rechecked and there are in fact 10 teams)
