Then LuaLua tried his luck with a free-kick from almost 30 yards after Ulloa was fouled. He failed to get perfect contact, though, and dragged his shot wide.
Wednesday were next to get a free-kick, out on their left, and Buxton saw his inswinging delivery headed downwards and on target by Reda Johnson - but straight at Kuszczak.
As the Owls' decent spell continued, Calderon d to be alert at the far post to head a dangerous cross behind - and the corner was headed away in the six-yard box by Ulloa.

8:19pm
LuaLua's pace made something out of nothing as he reached a long ball for which he was second favourite behind Semedo. LuaLua played the ball on to Bruno, who teed up Crofts for a low 25-yard drive which Kirkland held diving low to his right.
It was a comfortable save - but the contest had its first effort on target.

8:17pm
LuaLua lofted a free-kick into the box after being fouled on the left wing. The ball came off a defender and looped into the air - and Ulloa was penalised for his challenge as Kirkland tried to punch clear.

8:14pm
Albion are attacking the South Stand

8:12pm
Suddenly a half chance presented itself as Calderon and David Lopez worked a slick one-two down the right. The full-back's low cross ran into the path of Crofts, whose low shot was blocked by the body of a defender as he slid in.

8:09pm
Albion had failed to make the most of two great chances to upset the Wednesday gameplan and so far clear openings had been thin on the ground.

8:03pm
Greer chipped a fine ball over the advanced Wednesday back four, who were again left looking in vain for an offside flag from assistant Dan Robathan.
Ulloa was on to it but never got the ball cleanly out of his feet and Kirlkland,*just inside his area, dived at his feet to swat it away from his path.

8:00pm
Albion played some nice stuff early on but LuaLua's foul on Buxton gave Wednesday a chance to put the ball into the box. It was played in low towards the near post and Albion cleared.
The hosts, though, had a great chance to go ahead in the 14th minute.

7:55pm
Bruno drifted infield to pick up possession and chipped an exquisitie ball over the defence for David Lopez - but the latter's control let him down and the ball bounced through to Kirkland.

7:52pm
Albion were attacking the South Stand in the first half and notably had Bruno and David Lopez in quite advanced positions in the early stages.
Wednesday had Fryatt as their lone striker but it seemed clear that Helan (left), Coke (central) and Antonio (right) had licence to get well forward in support when their side had the ball.

7:29pm
Essentially, we are looking at Ulloa, David and LuaLua as all-change front three, in place of Barnes, Buckley and Conway, while the Owls look like going 4-5-1. But here is the team news in full

Before I give you a link to the team news, a little taste of pre-match at The Amex earlier this evening courtesy of Wednesday...

7:27pm
A year ago this week Albion played at home to Ipswich looking to get over a tame defeat by Birmingham. This time around it's a defeat by Ipswich they wish to get out of their minds.
The Seagulls were not at their best, shall we say, at Portman Road on Saturday. Now, with top scorer Leo Ulloa free of suspension and Kazenga LuaLua restored to the left wing, they look to put that right against a winless Sheffield Wednesday side hunting a turning point to their season.
