Simon Rusk was pleased with the number of chances his side created in the 2-1 defeat to Crewe.
The Seagulls had six players missing through injury but still looked a constant threat during the undeserved loss.
Rusk told seagulls.co.uk, “We conceded a couple of bad goals against the run of play, but still created a number of opportunities.
“We had four clear goalscoring chances and had some good possession but didn’t defend well enough.
“But we’ve come off the back of four very good performances, so I wasn’t completely disheartened with all aspects of our play.
“Next week we’ll look to get our passing football going again and be a bit more effective in our movement.”
Albion’s Under-18s fell behind thanks to strikes by Andre Brown and Joe Howell in the 18th and 26th minutes respectively.
Rusk’s side had plenty of possession and chances throughout the 90 minutes, but were left frustrated by the dogged Railwaymen.*
Deen went through one-on-one with the keeper early in the match, but he lobbed both the keeper and the crossbar.
Albion’s best chances to reduce the deficit came in the second-half, as Jordan Maguire-Drew had an effort well saved with Deen unable to score from the rebound.
Charlie Harris saw his free-kick strike the upright, while Des Hutchinson missed a chance from close-range.
Deen’s long range effort reduced the deficit and gave Albion hopes of a point but the hosts held on for the win.
Albion’s Under-18s are in action again next Saturday when they travel to Bristol City, 11am kick-off.
