Oscar Garcia
Oscar Garcia felt David McGoldrick proved the difference between the two sides after Albion’s 2-0 defeat against Ipswich. The Ipswich striker grabbed two first-half goals in four minutes as the Seagulls saw their unbeaten run come to an end at Portman Road this afternoon.
Albion's head coach mused, “Obviously if we had scored our early chance the game would have been different, but we didn’t and McGoldrick was the difference between the two sides.
“When you have a player of his ability in your team then they can make things happen; we knew McGoldrick could be a threat and today he showed that he is player who can play at a higher level.
“We were not good in the first 25 minutes, after that we improved but we conceded two goals, too early and never recovered.
“They scored with their first two chances and after that it was difficult for us to get back into the game.
“In a season you have many games and in some you don’t start well; this is what happened today.”
Meanwhile Oscar said moving Bruno into the midfield was for tactical purposes.
“Bruno has been training well and we needed a player who can also help our right back, so we believed he could do this job and he performed well."
Albion’s head coach is now turning his attention to back-to-back home games at the Amex, starting with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday - when he will also welcome back leading scorer Leo Ulloa.
“We are happy we have a game in three days, rather than waiting a week, because we want to change the feeling of the fans and the players by winning these matches.”
