Okay, need to get my Nexus 4 screen replaced today as it smashed last night, Ideally I'd like to get it sorted down the high street rather than send it off for repair. Anyone got any good / bad experiences of getting their phone fixed 'While U Wait' in one of those small independent phone repair shops? Or would you reccomend I go down the official route and send it to LG for an official repair? (I have no insurance)

Cheers

Same thing happened to me. I eventually replaced the screen myself. Cost of replacement screen was £80, took me about 90 minutes. If you take it to a shop you will end up paying about half the original cost of the phone for repair. There are You Tube videos that will take you through the process step by step, it looks daunting but really isn't. Apart from a torx screwdriver, no specialist tools are needed, the most difficult part is removing the battery as it has been glued into place and will need heating with a hot air gun or hairdryer to melt the glue enough to remove the battery. Good luck.
