This really is a must watch tonight, The Tube to me was the best music program by a country mile in the daring early days of C4.

Always watched it and the acts and also some of the presenting was not only ahead of its time but also so hilarious it beggared belief.

For the younger viewers watch this as it really was a true music show that knocked spots of Top Of The Pops.

But the music was always terrible. It amazed me at the time how they missed out on all the best bands, and always featured the crap. I think the Smiths were maybe on it (once), New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cure, Jesus and Marychain..? Never...

Don't worry about it. Just a typical Tory reaction. Apparently anyone with socialist ideals has to live in near poverty otherwise they are a hypocrite. The stupidity of such an argument isn't even worthy of a response.

Are you drunk? All of those were on it surely? JAMC did three songs on one show, ffs.

Yup. Smiths were definitely on, as were New Order, JAMC, Siouxsie, Cocteau Twins, The Cramps(!), Killing Joke etc. Don't remember The Cure or the Bunnymen being on, but they probably were.
