Best come back that you have seen from an Albion side?

It's been a long long time since we came back to win after being a goal down but to come back and draw can sometimes feel like a win.

I missed the Coventry game away where I think we came form 0-3 down in the last 15 to draw 3-3 but saw us sneak a draw at WBA having been totally outplayed but scored twice to level it very late in the game. The come back in the cup at Liverpool to draw 2-2 is right up there.

I think I'll go with Eric Potts supersub performance against Sunderland when we were 1-0 down at home after about 85 mins and came back to win 2-1 though.

Maybe Buckley's winning goal in the 1st game at the Amex??

I'm sure I've forgotten a few..remind me :smile:

Sunderland for me. I think I am rignt in saying Potts scored twice in injury time.

I also recall a game at home V Portsdmouth in 87/88, when we were 1-0 down going into the last couple of minutes, and won 2-1

That Leicester performance at Withdean, 2-0 up, and they looked like they were cruising, and we came back to win 3-2 I think. Bradley Johnson running things that evening.

Apparently you could hear them playing music and messing around in their dressing room at half time, and that gee'd us up.

11/12 season at home to Leeds was something. 2-0 down at half time and came out in the second half and went 3-2 up only to concede a goal in the dying moments. I remember it because I watched it on Sky Sports with a friend who is a Shrewsbury supporter and he told me after the game he was really impressed with the Albion after watching that game and desperately wanted to visit the AMEX.

Another vote for the Leicester game. I was stood at the chip van by the Family Stand at half-time with Rusthall Seagull and we were asking ourselves what the hell we were doing staying to watch the second half. Glad I did.

Am I right in thinking it was also Robbie Savage's last game for us? He was subbed before half-time, if I recall.

That Leicester game is the only time I've seen us WIN from 2 down, I think. A couple of draws though - Anfield in the cup, for one. Plus one at Withdean (can't remember who against) when we were 2-0 down with about 89 minutes gone, and drew 2-2. Sidwell possibly scored both. Burnley?

Yes, very late in the game, that was a good one. I had hopes of us signing him, then not long after he went to Reading.

He scored for Fulham last weekend I see.

Those two games were the ones I was going to mention. It was against Burnley and Sidwell got two goals in two minutes to get a point. Also an honourable mention for Preston away that season when we were two nil down at half time. We battled away and got a 2-2 draw out of it.

I still have the mental picture of the ball hitting the net and the spray coming off into the floodlights, with the North Stand backdrop.

1984/5 away to Grimsby on a Tuesday night, last away match of the season, and needed to win to keep remote promotion hopes alive.

Two nil down after 78 minutes, and the DOZENS of us who were there in a crowd of 4,034 were feeling a bit forlorn.

Cometh the moment cometh Hans KRAAY, who got what we thought was a consolation, Alan Biley then equalised with six minutes to go, and the once stalked by you know who Terry Connor then scored two breakaway goals in the 88th and 92nd minute to give us a totally undeserved, but memorable, 4-2 win.

I remember this well despite not being at the game. One of my bosses of the time was a Pompey fan and he went to the game (midweek, late Autumn I believe). It was when the away fans were accommodated in the corner of the East Terrace by the South Stand if there weren't many of them. They were not undercover, it rained hard for most of the game. Just before the final whistle the stewards/police took pity on them and allowed the small bedraggled group of Pompey fans into the West Stand to shelter. Oh how I laughed the following day (apart from his football loyalties he was a thoroughly decent chap). Bremner and Nelson goals in the last 5 minutes I recall.

There was a Colchester game at Gillingham, were i think we were 3 - 0 down and ended up drawing the game 4-4.

The Leeds game a couple of seasons ago was great too, CMS had a stormer that night.

Not a LATE comeback, but I also enjoyed the Forest game at Withdean, where we were 1-0 down, and scored 2 goals in what seemed like the space of about 45 seconds, to win it. (Hammond and Nick Ward).
