Does anyone know what is involved in getting 'clearance', what actually needs to be done? Does it take Swansea/Cardiff/Newport this long to sign players the other way round?

Welsh FA but they play in the ENGLISH premier league, yeah right surely it should be for the English FA? Seen as they play in its league?

It is only a matter of clearing up that there is no outstanding issues with either the leaving club or the FA which can be done by fax/ email in minutes. Clearanace can then be given. County FAs do it between themselves in England quite often and it takes literally seconds.

Swansea and Cardiff are affiliated to and under the initial control of the Wales FA, as they have to be, and the competition ie The Football League/Premier League is affiliated and under the control of the English FA. This is known as dual affiliation for clubs not directly controlled by the English FA.

You have to make allowances for the FAW. They have a County League level competition to run. Fringe clubs like Cardiff City just have to wait their turn for attention.

Wtih computer records for discipline etc it makes no difference if the computer is operated in Cardiff, Manchester or Glasow it still,only takes seconds to draw up the players record and if clear send an e mail..
