I'm no great fan, but when they have a line-up thing in rugby I believe team mates are able to lift someone in the air to get the ball.

Is there anything in the rules of football that stops a player being launched in the air by his team mates to get say a good header on goal from a corner?

It is not allowed but would not be considered dangerous play. The player would be cautioned for unsporting behavior either immediately or at the next stoppage of play. Whether play was stopped would depend on the situation on the field at that moment.

I suspect that some purists will criticize the OP for referring to 'the rules' of the game when it should in fact be 'The Laws'!!!
