I see from the service members thread that there is a lot of ex-matelots on here, so what ships did you serve on?
I was on HMS Yarmouth,Rothesay, Berwick, Edinburgh,and the Ark, I was in from 1975 to1 1990

HMS Invincible, as AB, Killick, PO & Chief.
HMS Ark Royal, PO
HMS Illustrious, Chief
HMS Fearless, AB & Killick
QEII, AB (Down south).

Shore bases just FYI, did the following.
HMS Raleigh
HMS Seahawk
HMS Osprey
HMS Daedalus
HMS Excellent
HMS Heron

For cruise ship spotters, worked on the following.
Norwegian Dream
Norwegian Sky
Norwegian Jewell
Norwegian Jade
Norwegian Dawn
Norwegian Epic
Norwegian Sun (Where I am at this moment, in Glacier Bay, Alaska).

35 years at sea, man & boy. Bloody hell.

My Mum and Dad did the Alaskan cruise a few years ago on a Norwegian something, they were on the Norwegian Spirit in the Med last year, one of the few in the fleet you have not been on. They say I can go with them next time but I doubt it will ever happen, always wanted to try a short cruise.

Antrim in Manila in August 1980 on a Navy Day...the lads were superb and we got the football results over the telex. Had a night out with a group of them.

Have been embarked forces on Invincible and Fearless and many an Lsl. Was sick on the Invincible, we were housed under the flight deck in camp beds. The smell of fuel and rough sea made me feel awful. Whilst feeling rough had to galley duty, the pot wash on board was unbelievable. (24 hours behind) Nothing worse than sea sickness. Don't know how you Matelots do it?
