Adam El-Abd had a tough time for Egypt
* Adam El-Abd El-Abd had a torrid full competitive debut for Egypt this afternoon.

* The Albion defender, suffering from a lack of match action, was at fault for both goals scored by ten-man Guinea in their 4-2 World Cup qualifying defeat at the hands of the Pharaohs in Hurghada.

* El-Abd put through his own net just four minutes into the match, attempting to clear a tame pass from a team-mate on a poor pitch at the Gouna Stadium.

* He played a part in Hossam Ghaly's 38th minute equaliser, blocking off an opponent to create space for the skipper inside the Guinea box.

* Abou-Treika celebrated his 100th cap for Egypt by converting a 52nd minute penalty, awarded for handball by Guinea's Kamil Zayatte who was sent-off.

* But Seydouba Soumah took advantage of some sloppy defending by El-Abd to outpace him and restore parity for the visitors six minutes later.

* El-Abd and Egypt's blushes were spared by goals in the final seven minutes for Mohamed Salah and Amr Zaki.

* The match was played behind closed doors in the Red Sea resort for security reasons.

* Egypt had already qualified for the African group play-offs.
