Off topic I know but if a person has an accident in England can the solicitor ask for £10,000 up front to take on the case. Heard this happened lately where the person was nearly 100% certain to win but didn't have that amount of cash (who would). It seems that the law differs on this front in Ireland and England.

There are plenty of reputable solicitors out there that will not request a fee up front if there is a strong likelihood of winning the case.
