Daily Ale: Rumours are circulating in local government tonight that Surrey County Council are ready to push ahead with expansion plans with an audacious bid for more land from neighbours and rivals, West Sussex.

In a leaked document, officials are said to want more land in a bid to make their county "...less chavy" and "more appealing" to residents "fleeing slums like Croydon" where average income and IQ remain amongst the lowest in the UK. Whilst recognising it can never replicate the sheer beauty of Sussex, Surrey is ready to break transfer records for land grabs by offering £1bn plus trams in order to secure more greenery. The report is also said to contain ambitious plans to build a giant pier on the north downs in order to boost Surrey's identity. Names being discussed for the behemoth structure are believed to include "Albion". The possibility of a beacon being added is also outlined in the plans. However, Surrey's plans may be rocked by a central government condition of sale: a plebiscite of residents in north Sussex. As the report acknowledges, "why would they want to do that...?"
