Very sad news.

It's odd that 4 of the charges were for creating indecent images last year - perhaps an element of one man's art being another's porn?

There's many people who have spent an absolute fortune on his paintings and prints in recent years - I should imagine that they will be very nervous about their investment now.

One would think he would not be charged without some pretty sturdy evidence, especially as this is the second time he was arrested for suspicion of committing these offenses.

Edit: to clarify, I'm not sure sad is the right word.

How on Earth does this constitute bad news???

how is news a national treasure is possible a fiddler not sad news. it undermines what people thought of him and makes one question just about everyone over the age of 50. most the others accused recently are/were, frankly, a little suspect, and people we'rent surprised or disliked them etc.

Or even SAD news!!!

I think he said sad in terms of someone who to many seemed to be beyond reproach - lovable old Rolf Harris, so there will be some illusions being shattered here.

I, for example, would have been prepared to believe it of Jim Davidson, who has been cleared, but find it a lot more difficult to accept of Rolf harris.

But agree that, if he is found guilty, he should be dealt with appropriately.

I'm sad about this. Not that he's been charged - if he's found guilty it will have been for an abhorrent offense and he should be rightly punished. I always considered Rolf to be a genius with his sense of humour and musical and artistic abilities, and will be very sad if it transpires that he has done these things. I'm hoping he's innocent.
