Good afternoon NSC.

Can anyone recommend me a place which cuts / programmes car keys. The blade on the key I have has snapped off the plastic fob, (due to the immobiliser both parts are needed to switch the car on) I’m not too keen to pay main dealer prices for the work.

If it makes any difference the car is a Hyundai I30 '57 plate.

Thanks in advance

Yes I can cut and programme a new key for you (Cost £35 much cheaper than the dealers)
You can Either pop into our Burgess Hill Branch or Hove Branch.
Pm me for details.

Cost me £70 when I had it done with main dealer.

The most curious thing..
Can any reasonably competant locksmith do this for any car (especially the programming bit or does that need a specialist)?

I don't live anywhere near Sussex so can't avail myself of the offer above.

If you not lost the key use the original chip get a key cut buy a new fob from like e-bay that holds a chip and then put all together when completed put key in ignition turn till all lights are on the dash board press the alarm on fob and this will reset the alarm, job done for around £15. there are a few who can cut a key by a photo or drawing around the broken key. :)

Or just get an ordinary key cut for the car when you buy it, and hide the original near the ignition. Won't work for all vehicles of course.
