Albion head coach Oscar Garcia has urged every member of his injury-hit squad to be ready to make a contribution this season.
Ashley Barnes is the latest addition to a damaging casualty list which has hampered the start of Oscar’s reign.
Barnes is doubtful for Burnley’s visit today due to a hip injury sustained when he came on at Birmingham last Saturday.
Liam Bridcutt, Bruno, Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins are all out for weeks or months.
Oscar is also without fellow Spaniard Andrea Orlandi (knee) for the fourth match running as he looks for his first result at The Amex and a dent to Burnley’s undefeated start.
Oscar told The Argus: “The players know they must be fit, because we haven’t repeated any first eleven in the games we have played. They know their moment can come in every game. All the players are important. I want them all fit enough to play, that’s not the case. We have four or five injured but with the players we have we will work hard and try to get the three points.”
Oscar has already used 20 different players in Albion’s opening three Championship games.
He could have midfielder Orlandi back for next Saturday’s home fixture against Millwall.
Oscar said: “I hope next week he will be able to play but it’s another case that we have to see every day.”
