You can as I did it last week when on holiday.
Download the football league app, choose Brighton as your team, log in to player, go to text commentary and there will be a play audio button.

You can if you select the right one on tune in radio app
Interesting. Which one is the right one? I thought you could only listen on FM or DAB.

BBC Sussex. Available on 95, 95.3, 104.5 and 104.8 depending on where you are. Not available 0n 104.6.
Last time I used it I was in Suffolk as I am today and got most of the match using only 3G.
So far so good

INSIDE SUSSEX
If you are in Sussex you can listen to the comm on BBC Sussex (Free)
You can also listen to match comm on Seagulls Player (Paid Subscription)
OUTSIDE OF SUSSEX
If you are outside of Sussex the only way to listen to comm is to purchase Seagulls Player (Paid Subscription)
INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF SUSSEX, BBC IPlayer
If you try to listen to comm on the BBC Player you will get a different comm i.e Woking....

I got it on my iPad last week, but the option for audio commentary didn't show until the game kicked off

You cannot listen to football league commentary online (legitimately) without using the official FL Player. You may be able to listen to cup matches online, depending on the cup licensing rights which I don't know. If you listen at 3pm for today's game online, including TuneIn Radio, you will get either a local non league game commentary, or some local 'light' program.
