Leo Ulloa is in good form
Leo Ulloa has urged Albion to give Birmingham City no time on the ball in the quest for a first win of the season.
The Argentinian striker has two Championship goals to his name already for the pointless Seagulls.
But he reckons they can do more without the ball to knock opponents out of their stride.
Ulloa, who has put Albion ahead in both league games to date, admitted: “It drives you mad to go ahead and end up losing.
“We have to keep working and turn things around.
“We need to correct the errors we committed.
“We know we need to do more with the ball.
“And we have to pressurise the opposition more quickly when we lose the ball and get it back quicker.”
Ulloa is raring to have a crack at Birmingham having been forced to watch the 2-2 draw at St Andrew’s last season as he awaited clearance to make his debut.
He admits he can understand fans being concerned about their team’s slow start to the campaign.
The 27-year-old added: “People have a right to be worried because up to now we have lost three games.
“But I think the team will pick itself up. We are on the right track.
“I hope we win because we need it. Hopefully we get a bit more luck.”
Albion are likely to face something a bit different when they take on Blues.
Boss Lee Clark has operated a new 3-5-2 system so far this season and seen his side snatch a 1-0 at Yeovil to follow an unfortunate defeat by the same score at home to much-fancied Watford.
Wing-back Neil Eardley said: “We will go into Saturday very confident. And we are at home, so hopefully we can put on a good performance and the fans will turn up in numbers and get behind us like last time.”
