What happened to Anton Ferdinand? Whilst he never looked like he was destined for the very top, I always thought he would have a successful career in the top flight. Strange how his career seems to be slowing down at the sort of age (28) that he should be hitting his peak as a defender.

All comes down to whether a player can maintain their motivation once they are very wealthy.
The likes of David Bentley and Anton Ferdinand just reach "ok" as a footballer, but "multi-millionaire" as an individual and then coast.
