Oscar Garcia has told his Albion team to start taking their chances.
Midfielder Kemy Agustien has revealed the head coach urged his team to improve their finishing after watching them crash out of the Capital One Cup.
The Seagulls have opened the season with two defeats, despite creating good second-half chances at Leeds and a host of openings in the 3-1 reverse to Newport.
They look to get their season up and running at home to Derby on Saturday.
Agustien said: “We need to be more clinical and that is what the manager said. We have created 40 chances and only scored two goals.
“That is for all of us to really focus on and make sure we are 100% on that so, when we get the chance, we put them in.
“We had 30 chances to score against Newport and only got one.”
Derby rested key first teamers ahead of the trip to The Amex. Boss Nigel Clough made six changes for their Capital One Cup win at Oldham.
