Newport go wild after celebrating their second
Albion were dumped out of the Capital One Cup by Newport County tonight – but that was the least of their worries.
The Seagulls’ full-back crisis deepened when Inigo Calderon was shown a hotly disputed red card in the 67th minute of their 3-1 defeat.
Calderon, who was playing at left-back, now faces a three-match ban barring a successful appeal.
He looked stunned to be dismissed after a full-blooded 50-50 challenge which appeared to leave Newport defender Byron Anthony with a serious injury.
County came from behind to win*in extra-time.
Albion led at the time of Calderon's departure*through Ashley Barnes’ cool finish of a Will Buckley pass.
Sub Danny Crow headed County level from Adam Chapman’s superb cross on 81 minutes.
Crow then curled his side level four minutes into extra-time.
Conor Washington added a third on the break eight minutes later.
