I'm sure he's a nice guy, probably a very good player.

My point is, what's the point in having him in the squad, and paying him, if he's not even deemed good enough to start a Capital One Cup tie at home against 'technically' the lowest ranked team in the competition? (I know they won 5-1 or something stupid like that at the weekend)

Just give the kid a chance I say. You never know, he could turn out to be amazing, left back search could be over. Seems silly risking Calde when Bruno is already injured.

I said we shouldn't risk Calde. Oscar has a lot to learn. Now we have to play three league games with a full back he doesn't trust and a midfielder at RB.

I do think if we are serious about getting promoted then these games should be where our development squad learn their trade. The likes of Maxi, Ince, Dickenson etc... It's all a learning curve. I could understand if we'd sold loads of tickets, but it's obvious none of us really care about the cup over the league, so we should save the big guns for important games.

I never said he was a bad player did I.

The point I was making was it's pointless having a 23 year old specialist left back on the wage bill if he's not even deemed good enough to start at home against League two opposition compared to a specialist RB playing out of position.

Why didn't Oscar just play him?

Isn't he primarily a CB that can play at LB, rather than a specialist LB?

Perhaps it's not due to age, but to get him used to the English game and the style of play that we've adopted?

Is it really that hard to consider that?
