What would happen if they found that there were huge quantities of shale gas under the Amex and they wanted to drill?

Ah so this was TB's clever plan all along. Who will we ground share with this time?

A massively rich corporation would be 'given' the rights to exploit it.

Wouldn't the Government grant a compulsory purchase order first to set the wheels in motion ?

Unless it caused an earth quake or we had gas coming out the taps there would be no reason to move the drilling is so deap it would be unlikely to affect the stadium.

However if there was really a huge amount and the club had rights then cash in build a new Evernote bigger ground I suspect FFP would still get in the way of buying every player we could ever dream of

Wouldn't matter, they can drill it from the side easy enough. Was listening to an "expert" this week who said there could be as many as 1000 bore holes in Lancashire and Yorkshire alone, but all done through less tan 100 well heads. They don't go straight down. The earthquakes in the second half might not help though.

There's 4000 holes in Blackburn.

Not relevant as they can get drills to wiggle around all over the shop. They could set up down the road on the Brighton University site, out of sight of the Amex. What ever drilling produced would be more useful to the town than Brighton University. QED.
