No ??? I can give you a long list of trees that it isn't but I'm hoping I can get the right answer before it descends into a Python like farce

Bit hard to tell from that photo, but my guess is Koelreuteria paniculata.

I'll need to ask Mrs Rat questions about fruit and when leaves come and go ... although I think they arrive quite late.

here's another pic if any more help

Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Koelreutia paniculata 100%.

Stunning autumn colour

My guess too.
There's a stunning one in the Royal Pavilion Gardens, in the south facing border of the west lawn.

Will show her this lot tonight when she gets home as she can't log in where she is ... she did say this

No fruits and loses leaves in Autumn, late to go into leaf in Spring. Has yellow mimosa type flower pinnacles, and has long serrated leaf bracts

She'll be delighted if identified!!

This is Mrs Rugrat?!....thanks all for the suggestion, whilst its not exactly as described for a Koelrutia, it's the closest yet and it may be because its growing in less than ideal spot as we don't get fruits or very coloured autumn foliage. Based on your suggestions even found a YouTube film on it! ...so do think it is a form of Koelrutia, thanks again Tree Spotters.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Is it an enormous cannabis plant?
