Simon Ireland has been named as Albion’s new academy under-21 coach.
The former Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers and Mansfield Town player will oversee the training and management for Albion’s under-21 side who will compete in the Professional Development League this season.
Ireland made over 200 professional appearances in a career during which he also represented Doncaster Rovers and Wrexham.
Albion’s incoming coach was previously on the coaching staff at Championship club Blackburn before leaving in the summer.
He replaces Luke Williams, who has left the club. Albion head of football operations David Burke commented, "We would like to thank Luke for his hard work, dedication and contribution to Brighton & Hove Albion during his three years with the under-21s, and wish him well for his future career."
