Was Lenny Henry ever funny?

I remember loving the Delbert Wilkins character when I was younger, but I'm not sure if I ever saw it again (and this time as an adult) I'd be as amused.

Exactly this. Loved that character when I was a kid. Probably awful if I watched it now.
