A new big flag

Evening everyone

Please see the link below to four big flag designs.

http://nskbha.blogspot.co.uk/

The inspiration for these designs is rooted in the desire to have something fan led which celebrates the Albion, the City and Sussex. As with the design process for the Stand or Fall banner these aren't necessarily the finished designs. We'll listen to all constructive feedback and look to re-work if necessary.

As no doubt many of you will have spotted the re-designed crest is an updated version of the crest of Brighton & Hove. The first known crest (1946–1975) to be used by the Albion was the traditional coat-of-arms design of the twin towns of Brighton and Hove. A hybrid design employing the shield of Hove and the dolphin crest of Brighton was also used at times while a calligraphic shield was worn on the team shirts in the latter 1950s. During the 1974/75 season the club became known as 'The Dolphins'. A new crest was designed although we're not sure if it ever made it onto the shirts! During the 2001/02 centenary season a return was made to the traditional shields of the former boroughs of Brighton and Hove

We've taken inspiration from these previous crests and arrived at the designs featured in these four flags. Many thanks to all those who have helped during the design process. Special thanks to @BHAFC_SWC

There is £1000 ready to go towards funding this, thank you to everyone who has already donated, apologies for taking a while to sort this out. We'll need to raise approximately another £600-900 depending on how big people want the flag. As a rough guide 12m x 9m will cost around £1600, 14m x 10.5m around £1900.

If you're happy to donate before the final design is chosen please send your donation via paypal to nskbha@gmail.com

The flag will be fireproof and have the necessary certificate etc. We have storage for the flag within the stadium. The vote (via the link above) will be active for the next two weeks. If you work for a printers or know a firm interested in printing this please get in touch.

If we raise additional funds we will use money to purchase another huge banner for the back of the north stand. Watch this space.

Many thanks

NSK

Picked the Sussex by the Sea one. Looked nice, a bit of class, and felt less obvious than some of the others.

I'd prefer one with just the Dolphin in a crest.

Sorry guys. Don't like any of them! All a bit boring and detailed for impact from a far. Not that my opinion really counts, do what you like. We need more flags so any new ones should be welcomed.

Why does the linked website say 'Erstwhile flag botherers'? Surely you still are?

Didn't really like any of them, the crest in the middle seems a bit random and naff to me. Of those though, I think the fourth is the best.

Agreed. The crest is overly fussy and brings an unnecessary faux-grandeur to the flag.
It is best served using one idea, and to fully embody that idea, not a crest that contains everything and the kitchen sink. And then not with a seagull and dolphin on either side.

Just my personal thoughts on the matter.

Was number 1, but chose number 2 now!

What does the 'We Wunt Be Druv' saying mean?

Palace apart, we won't be dominated.
