Albion’s Polish shot stopper Tomasz Kuszczak is optimistic ahead of the 2013/14 season, which kicks off on Saturday against Leeds at Elland Road.
*
The keeper, now in his second season at the club, is also excited at the prospect of playing under new head coach Oscar Garcia.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, “I am really optimistic. We need to start the season positively and then we will see what happens.
*
“There is a new manager, new staff, and we are working on some new tactics.

*
“We are aiming to start well on Saturday and try to collect as man points as possible early on as this is key for the Championship season. If you are sloppy at the start then it is difficult to close the gap, but I am really optimistic.”
*
The 31-year-old also echoed Oscar’s feelings on the pre-season saying, “We had a good pre-season and we had some tough games, some of them we won and then we lost against Villarreal, but they are a great team.
*
“Hopefully we will improve as a team because during pre-season the players kept changing during the games, but we have all learned from this.”
