Pietersen will hopefully not play as having a very mediocre Ashes.

Interesting that Monty gets a look in but cannot see him getting a game bar drinks handling.

Isn't Pietersen injured? He didn't field at all in the 2nd innings at Lords. Why's he in the squad? Monty being in as a 2nd spinner is great news.

I'm plead for Monty, but I certainly wouldn't pick him. Old Trafford is expected to be a turner, but Joe Root offers decent back up spinner capabilities, and even KP if he does pass his fitness test.

Maybe Swann has a knock, and Monty is back up to him.
