What's the deal with these?

I want to set up a free phone number for my business but not too sure on how to go about it. Had a few companies email me the details, but a bit reluctant to continue without further knowledge .

Any out there had dealings with free phone numbers? Are the calls charged back to your company?

What? Say, what?! Are you serious? I had no idea it was that much...

The best route is to buy the 0800 number and then link it to a VOIP server (Can either setup yourself if you are familiar with Linux or rent the server preconfigured) and then you can buy blocks of 100/500/1000 minutes at very cheap prices.

Then you just need a VOIP handset which are cheap on ebay

You can use the 0800 Buster on 01241220800 when calling from a mobile. I work for a church where we all use IPhones and we use this regularly. There is also SayNoTo0870 for 0844, etc, numbers, but not that many of these seem to have alternative numbers.

Nice one - thanks!

A free iphone app, 08 Wizard, is quite good at giving and dialing the 'normal' landline numbers behind 0800 numbers. It's directory is not complete though and seeks for users to add numbers that they know.

Didn't fancy reading the OP then?
