I did not use porn sites, so I said nothing.

Then they came for the alternative news/media, I did not use alternative news/media, so I said nothing.

Then they saved the world from global warming, global terrorism, and swine flu, thank goodness.

The End.

Will the Tories also ban people from thinking non-consensual thoughts while they jerk off while watching Rachel Riley on Countdown? How will they regulate this?

NSC would go into meltdown if it happened!

Once the technology is in place, it'd be a short step to regulating political thought...

Good reworking of a Half Man Half Biscuit classic. I assume you will be in attendance when they play the Concorde2 in October.

Censorship is a way of life, and has been for a long time.

So we should just except it? Thank goodness the good people of Wiki-leaks don't think that way.

Did you mean accept it? The proposal is that people opt in, not to ban it. Parental control is great if parents are responsible but there are many that aren't. Robert Thompson & Jon Venables had access to porn & violent films.

So do millions of other kids who haven't kidnapped and beaten to death a toddler. Using them to justify this is a stones throw from godwins law.

I'm all for pictures of nudey ladies, but if I want to look at them I should make a conscious decision to find them. The current debate isn't about that. It's about the way porn has spread on the internet, and the way that kids access it without meaning to. (Yes of course some of them mean to, but that's something you'll never control.)

Also I fail to see how images of rape and sexual violence fit into the "civil liberties" debate.

Sadly the discussion gets dragged down to the level of "the government wants to ban porn". It doesn't, and can't.
