Annual - Which position will the Albion finish 2013/2014 season poll?

Albion 2013/14 Season Poll

With only 11 days to go before the season starts & no meaningful signings, can we realistically expect the Albion to compete for the top positions this time around?

Delighted that we have a new manager & hopefully the side will be more attacking, the loss of a number of key players, I cannot see us in the top 6 positions this season. Think we will be mid table & perhaps rise to 9th come May.

So what do you think?

I will be pessimistic and say that we will just lose out on the title by goal difference on the final day of the season - after having guaranteed auto promotion two weeks previously. And passing Palace on way back down as a result!

Im going for 2nd behind Reading. They are going to be too strong for most.
A couple of permanent and a couple of loan signings before the start of the season and we will be just fine.

This is really tough, heart says auto but head says " don't be a dick we have to see who is coming in and just how good Oscar actually is" He is a totally unknown gamble in this division but hey this is pre season and I'm going for at least top 6 but going gung ho and voting 2nd

Plumping for third assuming we can bring in 1 or 2 more players before the window shuts. Reckon we will finish behind reading (1st) and QPR (2nd) :albion2:

I think Oscar's higher tempo tikitaka has the potential for some absolute demolitions when the squad are settled and fully gelled with his mentality. BUT, Gus' solid defensive record is difficult to criticise given the fact as draw specialists we still came 4th. Some will spin that to suggest we should have gone up automatically - perhaps that's true. But look at the clubs below us, they all beat each other, and couldn't keep up with a side that yes, drew a lot, but rarely lost. In a division as unpredictable and changeable as the Championship, I'd argue not losing is actually vitally important.

For me, 9th. A Leicester/Forest style season - more attacking, more exciting, but ultimately more vulnerable to silly end-to-end games, and falling short. Oscar will have a proper tip at it next year, albeit probably without Bridcutt, who will undoubtedly move on if we miss out again.

Win one or draw three is the same number of points, win one lose one draw one is certainly better than 3 draws. I'd rather win one in 3 than draw 3 personally.

the season starts in ELEVEN DAYS? wtf really? jeez...

well I've voted 10th, and if Garcia's looking good at setting the foundations of his team then 1st or 2nd in 2014-15.

LOL at everyone voting 1st 2nd or 3rd

For some reason I've dropped from 7th to 9th....... Bridge is a BIG loss. See if any of our signings make me more confident. I'd be happy with top half finish (even 12th)

9th for me. I'm not convicted we're going to make the 2/3 quality signings that we need to make a push for the top spots. Also think the 3 relegated won't make the same mistakes as those down the previous year and the likes of Bolton, Forest and Blackburn will be much stronger too. Thinking we might be here a few years but will know the OG factor pretty quickly I suspect and maybe he can work his magic

Yep, think this is more realistic, 9th/10th, the piss about with the Gus thing has put people off who may have potentially been keen to come to us. It dragged on far too long & damaged us considerably, but I suppose that was unavoidable. This season to start building again, next for auto promotion IMO.

I'll go along with this.
