It's nothing out of the ordianary, they always take a break every summer. Usually reopen just before the first meaningful game of the season.

Then why were they on sale?
In earlier seasons we have often been blocked from buying by being told "sales not opened yet because tickets not yet received", from which I have assumed that if can buy, then must have arrived!
Where does the truth lie? Which lie is true?!
Can we please not repeat last seasons delays? Ordered and logged 4 weeks before match day, received less than 24 hrs before kick-off - aaaagh!!!!
