Ever since I heard about this I have been trying to work out what exactly I'm going to say to the wife. I would imagine plenty of other blokes are thinking about that awkward conversation they'll be having soon.

This is where conducting academic research into the online early adoption techniques adopted by the adult entertainment industry come in extra useful.

I have no choice but to watch European Cumbath 27 whether I like it or not.

Well, (I'm a dead in the water Seagull if she reads this) my other half knows nothing of technology so I'm saying 'good thing too' far to much filth going on the WWW. Then when she's ironing, digging the garden or cleaning the car I'll dive in and opt out. Unless she's a closet perv she'll never know..... will she. :lolol:

On a side note, I wonder how many people have had their online activity exposed by cloud computing....

e.g. You open up your browser in your own account, thinking it's safe, and then all your bookmarks and web surfing history gets pushed onto the browser of the family computer.......

I think you are misunderstanding.

Under the proposed new system, account holders will have to opt-in our opt-out. If the account holder (A) opts-in/out, then another (B) will know which choice A has made based on whether B can view certain websites.

The default setting is IN (i.e. filters ON), so the account holder will have to actively opt-out. They won't make it that easy, otherwise any 9 year old kid will do it, I guess

I can see a massive surge in Newsagent Top Shelf sales coming soon.

Mrs Ziggy knows I love funny cat videos so I need to be able to search for "Close Up of my Black Hairy Pussy".

Home internet is no problem. However I work away a couple of nights a week most weeks and am concerned that it will be standard for hotel wifi to have the filters on!

and therein lies a substantial flaw - alot of kids are going to be more savvy than their parents and know how to opt in, or else work around any filter (i.e. VPN & proxy).
