For myself it's got to be Ernest Shackleton. His leadership , even when everything went completely wrong, was nothing short of sublime. The Endurance Expedition in particular enthrals me to this day. So who do the folk of NSC find from history inspiring in their lives?

Emile Zola for me.

Put his life and reputation on the line to fight for so that Dreyfus could be exonerated and pardoned.

For those of you who don't know the story, check it out. It's inspirational.

Genghis Khan, the biggest empire ever and he took shit from nobody.

An outstanding military leader yes, but the cruelty of him and his warriors has very few rivals throughout history. Millions of men, women and children slaughtered and tortured.

"If I was your wife I'd put poison in your coffee"

"Madam if I was your husband I would drink it"

Still brilliant :lolol:

I can't remember the full quote but the story was along the lines of some woman complaining that Winnie was drunk and his reply was
" Madam, in the morning I shall wake up sober, but you will still be ugly "
