Leo Ulloa headed Albion's winner
Albion shrugged off the dismissal of youngster Rohan Ince to beat Sporting Gijon 2-1 in Segovia tonight.

* Leo Ulloa scored an 88th minute winner after Ince had been given his marching orders 13 minutes earlier for a second bookable offence which gifted Sporting an equaliser from the penalty spot.

* Albion chased the ball for most of the game, as Sporting dominated possession, but the Spanish Second Division side's final ball and shooting was woeful.

* Route one, rather than the Seagulls' renowned passing style, gave them the lead after eight minutes.

* Ashley Barnes finished superbly from a punt upfield by keeper Peter Brezovan, with instant control and a snapshot from 20 yards.

* The striker's short fuse then cost him a caution in the 39th minute for an aerial challenge on Sporting defender Ivan Hernandez.

* Andrea Orlandi had earlier almost doubled the lead with a free-kick which flicked off the head of a Sporting defender against the far post.

* Head coach Oscar Garcia fielded a totally different eleven for the second half, with the exception of Ince.

* He moved from the centre of defence to the holding midfield role in place of Liam Bridcutt, who had his first 45 minutes of pre-season following a foot injury.

* Ince was booked in the 65th minute for kicking the ball away to prevent Sporting taking a quick free-kick.

* It proved expensive ten minutes later when he tripped Alex Barrera inside the box to collect a second yellow and concede a penalty.

* Ignacio Cases, the attacking midfielder intermittently linked this summer with a move to Albion, sent Casper Ankergren the wrong way from the spot.

* Adam Chicksen was allowed to come back on by the Spanish referee in place of Ince, so Albion still had 11 men when Ulloa thumped in a header from a Solly March corner, earned by George Barker.
* The Seagulls have now won all three of their friendlies so far without conceding in open play ahead of Wednesday's visit to Crawley.

* Albion First Half (4-1-2-3): Brezovan; El-Abd, Greer, Ince, Chicksen; Bridcutt; Richards, Orlandi; Buckley, Dickenson, Barnes.

* Second Half (4-1-2-3): Ankergren; Calde, Upson, Dunk, Maksimenko; Ince; Crofts, March; Barker, Ulloa, LuaLua.
