Albion head coach Oscar Garcia is poised to add experience of English football to his support staff by bringing former defender Nathan Jones back to the club.

The 40-year-old Welshman was part of Garcia's backroom team for an open training session at the Seagulls' Spanish base in Segovia this morning.

Jones made more than 150 league appearances for Albion in a five-year spell from 2000-05 and was involved in three promotions.

He spent the last three years of a seven-year stretch at his next club, Yeovil Town, as assistant manager.

Jones has returned to Albion from Charlton, where he spent last season as development coach.

He would be a perfect fit with his knowledge of English football and the club, coaching qualifications and the additional benefit of speaking Spanish after spells in Garcia's homeland earlier in his playing career with Numancia and Badajoz.

Albion are also expected to confirm the appointments of Juan Torrijo Navaro and Ruben Martinez, revealed by The Argus when Garcia arrived last month.

They were head fitness coach and assistant coach respectively last season at Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Israeli side guided by Garcia to their domestic title.
