Albion past a stiff test against La Liga side Getafe with a 1-0 win at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Andrea Orlandi struck the killer blow from a tight angle in the 12th minute following impressive work by Ashley Barnes.
The Seagulls, wearing their new yellow strip for the first time, had an early scare in the fourth minute when Lafita found space inside Casper Ankergren’s box and shot low, but the Danish stopper made enough contact with his legs to divert the ball wide.
Bruno was withdrawn early, although it did not look serious, paving way for Albion fans to get their first glimpse of Adam Chicksen in an Albion shirt, after the left-back signed on Sunday.
And moments later, in the 12th minute, Albion made the breakthrough when Ashley Barnes picked up a loose pass in midfield and broke towards the Getafe goal. He waited patiently for assistance and laid a perfectly-timed ball to Orlandi on his left, who fired the ball into the bottom right corner.
Leonardo Ulloa looked a constant threat with a high ball, as well as with the ball at his feet, and it was his hold-up play that made space for Will Buckley to break down the right. The former Watford man fizzed the ball low to Barnes but the Albion striker steered the ball wide of the Getafe goal.
Indeed the main opportunities were falling to the Seagulls and Orlandi came close to doubling his tally with a low curling effort, which Getafe keeper Codina turned round his right post with a smart save.
Into the second half and Ulloa headed a Jake Forster-Caskey corner narrowly wide before the home side came close to equalising in the 61st minute.
Adrian Colunga shot at goal with a speculative free-kick from distance, trying to catch Tomasz Kuszczak off-guard but his effort bounced wide off the angle, although the Polish keeper looked to have it covered.
And inside the last ten minutes Getafe came even closer when Juan Rodriguez made contact with a deep cross, only to see the ball bounce back off Kuszczak’s left post.
Colunga had another strike at goal late on which ballooned high and wide, and that would prove to be the last chance of the game, as the Seagulls stood strong to record another pre-season win.

Albion: (4-3-3) Ankergren (Kuszczak 56); Bruno (Chicksen 11 (Maksimenko 77)), Greer (Dunk 65), El-Abd (Upson 46), Calderon (El-Abd 67); Forster-Caskey (Ince 65), Crofts, Orlandi (LuaLua 46); Buckley (March 65), Ulloa (Dickenson 65), Barnes (Richards 65).
