Today the Queen has granted Royal Assent and signed the Equal Marriage Bill into law, so now homosexual couples can legally have weddings rather than civil partnerships, with all the legal rights thereof.

Of course no institution will be forced to perform homosexual weddings, and quite rightly so, but they will now be fully and legally available for those groups and individuals who do wish to have them.

Oh right zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So now this Government can get on with something important from their Manifesto, rather than try to act all PC.

What ever next?

Bizarre that it may sound I personally believe attempting to make our society more equal an important achievement.

There are far more important issues to be addressed, by Government, than this. Child abuse, poverty, homelessness, the failing NHS to name a few. But, hey ho, gays can now trip down the aisle together. Good luck to them.

Yes, equally to straight people in society - this is what its about. Those are all important issues - but is equality not important then ?

But those issues are there for every government - using that argument would mean this bill would never have got passed.

:lolol: do you really think that shower of shite in parliament have the ability to deal with that range of problems? At least they can say they've actually done something of consequence now.

Anyway, the current government are 'dealing' pretty well with these issues - poverty up and homelessness threatened to thousands after housing benefit cap, and failing the NHS at every turn. Their proposals for League Tables for 5 year olds can probably tick off the 'child abuse' too...
