I bought my old man one about 10 years ago and he has become obsessed with them. He's got about 30 now.

Bonsai KO in North Laine is very good if you ever need advice on pruning and so on.

Yeah i know the shop cheers.
I'm going to put it into a larger pot to develop a larger truck then work from that.

Planting it in the ground for a few years helps with trunk development. it still has to be lifted every spring and the tap roots removed.

That's why i was just going to stick it in a large pot so i didn't have to do that.

Unfortunately that tree isn't mine i would rather grow from a smaller start.
This also isn't mine but is the same species.

Fair enough but you do know that those trees are probably between 50 & 100 years old? You've got a long time to wait before yours will look that good!

Great pics Jevs if your interested ive been watching these on youtube there about 10 min each. An American on an apprenticeship with a 2nd generation master grower in Japan.
