It has been suggested to me that Garcia and Lopez had a falling out when they were playing against each other in Spain and this is the reason why Lopez will not be back. Has this been mentioned before?

Possible I suppose but unlikely.
Quick Google search shows Garcia played at Espanyol and Leida between 2004 -5 and then retired. Lopez made his debut late in 2004 for Osasuna . One was about to retire the other was just starting out. Do people really hold grudges that long against kids?
