Just put one on - double on Swann and Pattinson as leading series wicket-takers. Bring it on.

Good value on Ian Bell to be top runs scorer in the series - 12/1 at most bookies.
However, I reckon Jonny Trotter will the leading run scorer, but he's at 5/1 at most places.

What odds on a South African to be leading run scorer and a Pakistani to be leading wicket taker?

Copied from the main Ashes thread:

What are everybody's Ashes BETS?

I've invested half my Andy Murray winnings on the following:

Small:
Series Result - England 3-1 @ 6/1
First Test result - Draw @ 11/4
(Series) First Aus batsman to hit a six - Watson @ 5/2 (this looks tremendous value)

Large:
Top series bowler - Swann @ 9/2

3 Large bets to start with for me ;

England to win 1st Test @ 10/11
Pieterson top 1st ininngs run scorer (for England) @ 4-1 with Paddy Power. Paddy Power are offering double the odds if your top scoring batsman gets a ton. It's long odds on that the top 1st innings run scorer will also get a ton making this hopefully 8-1 if it comes in.

And after reading Michael Vaughans Betfair Column

Swann leading series wicket taker @ 9/2

VC bet & Ladbrokes are doing Money back specials as well if you vary your bookie.

I was feeling particularly pesimistic and a colleague was overly confident.

We have a big bag of Jelly Babies riding on the series. Him with England and me thinking the Aussie may just nick it.

A British summer special treble with Betfred @ 9/1.

British Lions to win the test series rugby - settled (won).
England to win the Ashes cricket.
A British/Irish winner of the Open golf.

Surprised Betfred didn't include Andy Murray to win Wimbledon in any combination.

gone a little on the Aussie tail to score more runs than ours.

Also:

Pattinson top criminal bowler 11/4
Watson top criminal batsman 7/2
Swann top English Bowler 3/1
Pietersen top English Batsman 7/2

Some of the above bets are looking a little shakier now.
