Watcha seen this year ? I LOVE these beauties.

A Tortoiseshell.

Thats is it so far.

I may wander up Southwick Downs as there could be some Marbled Whites on show.

Just a couple of Red Admirals, a Cabbage White, and 3 or 4 Small Tortoiseshells so far.

The late, cold spring really seems to have affected butterflies this year. Plus the wet summer last year may have had a knock-on effect for this year.

We've usually had a few Small Blues by now, but none at all so far.

Saw a Peacock the other day having a bathe in the sun - just stood and watched it chilling before it took off and was on its way. Must admit I've not seen one for a long time.

On my bike ride today from Shoreham to Henfield and back I saw loads of Comma's, Small Tortoiseshells, 2 Red Admirals and a Peacock on the Buddlea along the paths. A Beautiful site.
