Considering that they both had very healthy leads at half time, I'd suggest that they both initially intended to be subtle. However, as the half time scores were read out, the truth began to dawn that they'd gone down the same route. From then on out, insanity ruled.
Did the commentators scream: "This could be a cricket score!" when they went 8-0 up?
