Following on from the thread about film moments that make you blub - what about iconic images from films which stay with you forever...

I'll start with the end of The Planet of the Apes (Original) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPfcim_p38w - sigh, how do I embed YouTube links?

The rape scene in Scum - A nasty, nasty scene which will stay with me forever. But I guess that's what the writers wanted. Very dark.

Alien. The long shot of an extremely small John Hurt descending into the belly of the long dead ship. Love that film.

Brighton factually.....
American History x.... Curb stomp scene

However there are so many powerful dark well acted moments in the film from that scene, the bit in the house when he has diner with his mum and her new Jewish boyfriend and he rips off his wife beater and shows him his swastika on his chest right through to him getting raped by white supremacists in prison. A very powerful and emotive film.

I'd agree about the powerful and emotive film, although I found his brother (Furlong) journey more interesting. It was the down ward spiral, and you knew it was only going to end one way.

The ending in con air. Stupid I know.

Where does the construction site come from? They land on a main road full of casinos, breakthrough one of those sky walk corridor things, and suddenly Cyrus lands inside a construction site. Weird. I love the film, but that came out of nowhere.

To embed you need to put the {video}link{/video} inside tags, but with square brackets instead of curly.

Time to die (Bladerunner)

And this wins

'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe'..............

'Brighton on fire off the shoulder of Orion'....

Beautifully written, with metaphors and sub texts galore. and if it is a time to die. I strongly suggest you do it with so much grace.
